Meal Plan FAQs

Unlimited Plans are the best value in dining! These plans provide the subscriber with unlimited access to our residential dining facilities: Harrison and Brockway Dining Halls.  Some Unlimited Plans include added features including Points, Green Box to-go meals, and Guest Meals. Points are for use in any retail facility including The Square, Jitterbugs Café, Raj Madan Café, TRAX, and The Nest. The Green Box Program enables students to take food to-go from dining halls. Guest Meals can be used to bring a guest to the dining halls.

Meals are the primary way to enjoy the vast selection of meals at our dining halls. Students can access them right from their student ID and simply swipe to enter.

Unlimited Plans provide unlimited dine-in access at Harrison Dining Hall and Brockway Dining Hall, plus select plans offer allotted take-out meals per semester for use with the Green Box Program from both locations. Unlimited Plans may not be used for You Pick 3 Meals at The Nest or for select combos at The Square.

The “Any” Plans come with a set number of Meals that reset at the start of each week. For example, if you select the Any 14 Plan, that means a student can go to the dining halls two times per day on average. Those on an “Any” Plan can use Meal Swipes at the following locations: Harrison Dining Hall, Brockway Dining Hall, You Pick 3 Meals at The Nest, and for select combos at The Square. To-go options are available at each location except Harrison!

Points give you the added flexibility to dine wherever you like on campus, including Subway, TRAX, The Nest, and our cafés, like Jitterbugs and Raj Madan. Points are spent similarly to dollars, but save you the 8% sales tax on all your purchases.

The Points on your plan are for the entire semester. You can add Points to any plan at any time, however, additional optional Points are non-refundable, and any remaining Points do not roll over to the following semester. Only add what you know you’ll use!

Points can be used at any dining location.

Guest Meals are used to bring a guest, like a family member or friend, to dine with you at Harrison or Brockway Dining Halls.

Other FAQs

Easy Money is a taxable debit spending account. It is completely optional and separate from your dining plan. Think of it as a debit card you can only use on the SUNY Brockport Campus! Many students add their excess financial aid to their Easy Money account to purchase textbooks at the SUNY Brockport Online Bookstore. Students can learn more and get started here.

BASC labels for the nine most common allergens in our dining halls, as well for vegan, made-without-gluten, Halal certified proteins, and vegetarian meals. Additionally, we have an entire station devoted to made-without-gluten options in Harrison Dining Hall. For additional support with your dietary needs or food allergies, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at business.services@basc1.org.

As long as you’re registered for classes and housing on campus, your dining plan should show up on your bill. The Unlimited 200 Plan is the default for new residential students. (Returning students are assigned their previously selected plan.) If you don’t make any changes before the first two weeks of the semester, you’ll be billed for this plan. No, the dining plan is tax exempt and therefore only the account holder can use their ID card/virtual BASC Pass to access their dining plan. Unauthorized use may result in the card being confiscated. Any student who shares their account access and/or attempts to use another student’s account will be subject to discipline via the Office of Student Conduct and/or subject to a financial penalty up to and including the cost of the meal plan.

If your ID card is confiscated for inappropriate use, the card owner can pick up the card from the dining location where it was confiscated by the end of the business day.  After that, the ID card will be sent to University Police for safekeeping and pick up.
